How big are the “everlasting arms of Love”? The idea of being upheld and embraced by God’s love isn’t new; it comes from the book of Deuteronomy, “The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms” ( 33:27 ). A well-known hymn elaborates on this timeless idea: Everlasting arms of Love Are beneath, around, above; God it is who bears us on, His the arm we lean upon.
