An end to severe menstrual cramps
In 1967 I had an instantaneous healing that convinced me Christian Science heals decisively and is the promised Comforter Christ Jesus said would come (see John 14:16–18).
For ten years, from seventh grade in school through college and beyond, I suffered every few months from severe menstrual cramps. Every time this happened, a Christian Science practitioner was called for prayerful metaphysical treatment. The result was that I would fall into a deep sleep and then wake up from the nap pain-free. But the cramps always recurred.
Sometime after college graduation and marriage, when I was working as a French teacher in a local school, I had by far the worst of these repeated bouts with menstrual cramps. It occurred very early on a Monday morning. When I awoke in pain, I got out of bed and called a Christian Science practitioner who was listed in The Christian Science Journal. I had never talked to her before, but I briefly told her my name, that the room was getting dark, and that I was losing consciousness. I didn’t have time to say anything about the cramps. She shouted into the phone, “The moon is under your feet!”
