Divine Love in the lead—on stage and off
Last summer I once again had a healing demonstration of the effectiveness of Christian Science. After a five-year hiatus from acting in plays and film, I was offered a great role at a professional theater, and though I wanted to do the role, I was nervous about saying yes.
My mind was swirling with fear. As a senior citizen, would I be able to remember my lines? Did I have the stamina to do the run of a play? Could I do the play and keep up with my responsibilities at home? After praying about it and talking it over with my husband, I said yes to doing the play.
We went into rehearsal, working as hard and as fast as we could. We had only two weeks to get the play “on its feet,” and I was having trouble with my lines. At one rehearsal I put my head down and said, “This is so embarrassing; I don’t know what comes next.” At this point I was praying, but only sporadically.
