Free from fear and terror
We have all probably heard reports on the news of danger and chaos in the world, and they can sometimes make it difficult to feel safe and confident. But when danger is reported, or if we find ourselves in trouble, there is something we can do to feel and be safe. All of us have control over what we think. Fear can and must be met in individual human consciousness.
To do this, we must place our reliance on supreme, ever-present wisdom, God, which cancels out fear and even danger. God’s thoughts keep us safe: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” (Jeremiah 29:11).
In the face of danger, or when it seems odds are against us, we can draw on this spiritual understanding and be fearless. We can be a light in a dark place and help lift the darkness of fear hovering over ourselves and humanity. This is accomplished through inspired prayer.
