My spiritual journey to healing

Originally written in French, this testimony was first published in the January 2015 French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish editions of The Herald of Christian Science.

Several years ago, before I began to study Christian Science and during a medical checkup, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a great shock. What was I to do? I felt a deep, paralyzing fear.

With two children to take care of, I could not accept the diagnosis. I wanted to be there for them. I did not want them to experience the grief caused by losing a parent. I told myself that there had to be a solution, and that I needed to keep looking for the inspiration that would tell me how to heal this condition.

At that time, I had been practicing meditation for years. The first idea that came to me was that I needed to stop working and concentrate my thought and energy on finding healing. I could not imagine following any regular medical treatment, since I felt that for me the answer wasn’t there.
