Walking securely
It seemed to come out of the blue. One minute I was just fine, and the next minute I stood up and my foot was in extreme pain. I couldn’t put any weight on it, and it had started to swell. My first reaction was “What did I do to cause this?”
Right away I knew that was not the right approach, since I subscribe to the fact that so-called material laws are unreal, and therefore subordinate to God’s law. I knew that I didn’t need to go through the “how-and-why” approach in seeking healing, because there is no cause to be found in matter. But I still found myself being sucked into that kind of thinking.
The pain was so severe that I hobbled upstairs to bed, but could find no comfortable position. I tried to read from the Sentinel, The Christian Science Journal, and our textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, but the pain seemed to take over.
