Injured ankles healed
Christ-healing is a familiar topic in our home; we have been privileged with much evidence of it. Some 15 or 20 years ago I fell down the full flight of stairs in our house, bumping my elbows as I went. When I hit the foot of the stairs, both of my feet and ankles were injured. One foot was painful, though it was its normal color and able to sustain my full weight. The other foot was painful, discolored, and swollen, and I could not stand on it.
As I crawled back upstairs on my hands and knees, I felt deeply frightened by these injuries. Propping myself up atop the bed with pillows, I began to study the Holy Scriptures and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.
Being unconscious of time or hunger, I skipped breakfast and lunch as I continued to study and pray. Then I saw this statement in Science and Health: “From first to last the supposed coexistence of Mind and matter and the mingling of good and evil have resulted from the philosophy of the serpent. Jesus’ demonstrations sift the chaff from the wheat, and unfold the unity and the reality of good, the unreality, the nothingness, of evil” (p. 269).
