We go with God

[“Overcoming fear of flying,” Manuela Meier, May 5, 2014, issue]

Thank you for this article. Years ago with all the distractions on airplanes … meal service and movies … my thoughts were occupied elsewhere. But now, seeing the need, I pray along the same lines before and during the flight. As I enter the airplane, I declare silently that Mind transports its ideas in safety … also we go with God. Again, many, many thanks.

God’s uninterrupted harmony

[“Unharmed by horse’s kick,” J.T. Jones, April 14, 2014, issue]

Very wonderful to hear that the horse’s joy couldn’t mar your joy—or your arm!

This reminds me of the time I knelt down and opened my arms to embrace my dog, who came running toward me full-tilt. His face smashed against my nose so hard that I heard the collision, but I was so touched by his exuberance and innocence that I made no room in my thought to consider the possible physical effects. As a result, there was no pain, no swelling, no redness, no bruising, no bleeding, no brokenness—nothing except God’s uninterrupted harmony.

Already complete

The remark Mark Swinney made in the April 7, 2014, Sentinel [“Your present standpoint”], “There is only one God; there is only one perfection—God’s perfection!” gave me a much clearer sense—freedom. Not me trying for perfection, but that it was already complete for all of us as the image and likeness, reflection, of God.

Article revisited

You might remember the March 11 Sentinel of 2013 with the beautiful cover photo of flowering cherry trees.

I decided to revisit the article “Treat yourself” by Doris Edington. I was reminded not to give Christian Science treatment without the knowledge and consent of the person (under most circumstances). However, there are wonderful healing possibilities without specific treatment; the wonderful healing of the unsightly growth on a boy’s eye in the article is proof—the love expressed and felt by the schoolteacher did the work. More love is the answer.

To treat ourselves thoroughly and consistently is to be actively involved in healing—and if we’re called upon to treat another, divine Love will lead the way. “Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way” (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 454 ).

Thanks again for an excellent article.
