Drug use overcome
Originally written in Spanish, this first appeared as an article in the January 2013 Spanish, French, German, and Portuguese editions of The Herald of Christian Science.
My high school years, from when I was 12 to 19 years old, were a dreadful period. My attitude was completely out of place. I would sometimes set fires in the restrooms at school and was constantly making fun of the teachers. My life was completely out of control.
Alcohol and tobacco were my constant companions. My parents tried to find a solution to my behavior, and I was sent from a public to a private school. But I started drinking alcohol excessively and getting drunk every weekend. I didn’t pass the exams that year, so I had to repeat the school year and was sent back to public school.
I went back to my old friends and became acquainted with drugs. My friends and I did drugs on a daily basis as excessively as we drank alcohol.
