Healing and protection on an airplane
Many years ago, my husband, two of our children, and I flew from New York to Chicago to visit my family. My husband, who had a license to fly without instruments (he had not yet had instrument training), was the one piloting the single-engine plane we were in.
On our return flight, we were forced to climb above 10,000 feet to stay above the clouds, which were continuing to rise. At one point, my husband felt that his sense of judgment was suffering owing to a lack of oxygen. Suddenly, I was aware of feeling ill; I tried to breathe deeply, but I found it very difficult. Then one of the children complained of nausea, and the other became fretful.
Though my husband was not a Christian Scientist, he supported my practicing Christian Science. His two boys and our two children attended Sunday School at our local branch Church of Christ, Scientist, while he and I attended the church services.
