Gum and jaw trouble healed
Over the Christmas holiday one year, my extended family gathered together. One evening, there was an outburst of temper and ill will from a young-adult relative, who berated her mother up and down in a very harsh manner. This led to tears on the mom’s part, and a tense and embarrassing evening for the rest of us.
Later that night, I felt very bad for the mom and was pretty upset with that young person. In retrospect, I could have done a lot more to bring healing to the atmosphere of thought by silently denying that anger, reaction, or hurt feelings could have any power or presence. But I got a little caught up in the drama.
The next day, I began having trouble with the gums that surround a crowned tooth, one that the dentist had been watching for possible crown replacement. Before too long, I was experiencing pain and was unable to eat properly or even move my jaw much to talk.
