Marriage blessing
We lean not on each other,
you and I,
for each is upright, whole.
We look not to each other
for supply,
for each depends on Soul.
We do not suddenly
become complete,
God’s work was always done;
but on the “stairs” of
understanding meet;*
in God we are at one.
Our home is heaven,
gratitude the way;
God’s blessing ours,
today and every day.
—Fenella Bennetts
