Painful finger back to normal

One morning several months ago, I woke up with an intensely painful, discolored, swollen finger.

I immediately relied on prayer, protesting in thought: The one living God is reigning! Then came an angel message I knew from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy: “Mind is the source of all movement, and there is no inertia to retard or check its perpetual and harmonious action” (p. 283). This I understood to mean that God, Mind, is the source of all liveliness, activity, and mobility.

I saw the whole situation as a lie that did not touch my real spiritual self in the least. God never made a painful, discolored, swollen finger, and whatever wasn’t made by Him could not be a part of me. I am the image and likeness of God and therefore spiritual and not material.
