Free from sore throat
Originally written in Portuguese, this testimony appears in the May 2013 Portuguese, Spanish, French, and German editions of The Herald of Christian Science.
One night, I woke up with a sore and swollen throat and I could hardly breathe. I became frightened because the symptoms were very aggressive.
As a student of Christian Science, I always lean on ideas from the Bible and the writings of the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy. On occasions of distress, these ideas act as a remedy, for they bring strength and healing.
On that occasion, the following passage from the Bible came to my thought: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5, 6). In fact, all problems can be resolved when we trust God’s unerring guidance.
