Freeing thought

Thank you for the article by Jim Baker (“No more regrets”) in the Sentinel of March 18. It demonstrates the power of metaphysical thinking in freeing mankind from dark mental thoughts of regret and guilt that impede one’s spiritual growth. I had been struggling with memories of past disappointments, and the article showed me how renewed thinking about my life experience enables me to repent disturbing illusions, learn how to love my neighbors, and affirm Truth during trying moments. For me, the Christian Science periodicals have in the recent past become simpler, handy, and, indeed, revitalizing!

Walking Into your photo

[“Into the woods” by Craig Kronman, March 11, 2013, issue]

I feel like I’m walking straight into your photo, up that rugged path, and straight into God’s glen. The scene is beautiful, as is your description of the spiritual qualities you felt upon entering and exploring it.

Loved the old, love the new

I love the Sentinel. I loved the “old” Sentinel, and I love the “new” Sentinel. After reading several letters from readers about the changes and how each feels about them, I thought to myself, “Wow, have I really been that oblivious to these changes?” Yes, I have noticed the new size, that the layout has some changes, but it never occurred to me that the Sentinel was really different. The content still has the same wonderful spiritual inspiration, the same uplift, the same joy, the same healing, the same comfort and message that helps advance us along our spiritual journey. Many thanks to the wonderful staff that puts this all together and to the writers that contribute, and to those that share their healings.

Rejoice in Life

[“No aging process for God’s ideas,” Marci Martin, Web original, February 27, 2013]

What a perfect article. Alone? Thanks for the proper definition. [“Webster’s Encyclopedic Dictionary defines alone as 'all one, all wholly one.'] Aging and declining? Thanks for the truth about that. My dogs are getting “old” by mortal standards and it’s amazing how they forget that when motivated by a good treat or the sight of some critter. I need to do some work for them and everyone in our household. Time to remove time and degeneration from my own thought (our droopy tales of woe, of aches and pains, forgetfulness, etc.), just as you did, Marci. Then we can all disport ourselves and rejoice in the good Life.
