Second look
When I picked up the February 18 Sentinel, I must admit to passing over the first article “To end all wars,” reading the rest of the articles and testimonies, noting many helpful ideas, and then setting it aside.
Later I was drawn back to it again, and realizing that the first article was by Michael Pabst (whom I’d been privileged to meet a few years ago at our Christian Science Society), I decided to read it. What a beautiful and relevant article! And the illustration he provides of the man who came to his church and was healed is applicable to every Christian Science church and society worldwide! It was deeply moving. I was inspired to be more alert to the needs of those right in my own community and to know that this is a way we can be a part of “ending all wars.”
Thank you, Michael Pabst, and thank you, Sentinel.

Perfect size
I love the new Sentinel! The size is so perfect. I love the fact that I can sit down and read the Sentinel from cover to cover in one sitting, thus enabling me to share it in a timely manner and also be able to read all the Sentinels as they come. The quality is excellent: the articles are uplifting and help to push thought forward to see there is absolutely no challenge that cannot be met with the correct understanding of God and the application of Christian Science. Thank you for all the prayers and work that go into providing this
publication.

Love letter to God
Jean Harris’s article in the February 11, 2013, Sentinel, “Dear God, be my valentine,” ended with her love letter to God, a prayer that deeply touched me and expanded my sense of gratitude for God as a companion and source of good. I was also inspired to add to her poetic description of favorite God-given gifts with some of my own: seas of Spirit to be sailed, movements of Mind to be danced, and all of God’s children to be loved. Thank you, Jean!

Invaluable aid
I cannot thank you enough for the editorial, “Not obsessed” [January 28 Sentinel]. Though the subtitle states that it was “Written especially for teens,” I am also finding it an invaluable aid to prayer and watchfulness. There is enough helpful guidance in this editorial to justify it being read and thought through by anyone many times over.
