In June 2011, I received a proposal to intern in the athletic department of the office of the mayor of the city where I live, which would be a very important step for my career. I was in the second year of my physical education degree, learning to teach sports and athletics, and was very eager to start working. However, when I took the proposal to my college advisor with the internship agreement that needed his signature, he gave me the not-so-pleasant news that I could only get an internship in the third year of college because of certain regulations governing this type of occupation for students.

I was disappointed with the news because this might be my only opportunity to intern at city hall, but I focused my thoughts on the spiritual truth that God’s laws are the only ones that really exist and exert power over my life. I have endless opportunities to express divine qualities, and no law has the power to stop spiritual expression.
