Are we at the mercy of chance, or does God have a place for each of us? Following the media, we might sometimes have the impression that we’re just a tiny element among billions of people in the world. In comparison with humanity, our country, our city, or even our neighborhood, it might be easy to conclude that we do not weigh much in the balance, or that after all is said and done, we aren’t truly useful. However, an analysis of my true identity as a child of God has shown me the total opposite of that.

Before starting my first year of university, I was facing a real dilemma as to the choice of my future career. Which path to choose? Enroll in an academic institution, where I was living, or take my chances abroad? My parents couldn’t agree on this question, either, between themselves or with me. I spent two months desperately looking for an answer, but I never really felt like I had the time to pray about it at first. Unable to see the answer, I even suspended my weekly singing rehearsals to address this problem.

The most important thing was how I would show, in a practical way, the glory of God in my life.
