Healing of back pain, illness, and a painful finger
First printed in the Spanish edition of The Herald of Christian Science, El Heraldo de la Ciencia Cristiana.
Some years ago I was going through a period of great stress at work. One day I came home with a lot of back pain. This was totally unexpected, because I had not exerted myself physically at work. My family helped me into bed and I asked them to give me an issue of El Heraldo. I remember the first article I read talked about a woman calling a Christian Science practitioner “because she had severe back pain.” This made me laugh because I was so surprised. Right after I read the article, I fell asleep, and when I got up the next day, I was completely free of pain.
I was filled with enormous gratitude to discover that the answer was already right there. I had several issues of El Heraldo, and the very one that I started reading had the article with the answer that I needed at that moment. This is how Truth knocks at our door when we are waiting and when we need it most.
Mary Baker Eddy wrote, “Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 494). The answer we receive may be a song, a flower, a whisper, anything. God always reaches us with His thoughts.
