Healed of injuries from a bike accident
It was a gorgeous day in May, and the warm late afternoon sun was enticing many to head home early. I was on my bike, in the bicycle lane, having great fun blasting through the warm spring air. I was also feeling a bit superior as auto traffic to my left was congested, yet I was free to fly in the bike lane!
Suddenly, the car next to me slowed to allow a car from the other direction to make a left turn. Neither motorist saw me flying down the bike lane and I collided with the turning car. I pulled myself up off the ground and saw that my bike was too damaged to ride.
Immediately, people ran over to inquire about my condition. Many offered rides or gave their contact information with offers to be witnesses. I assured everyone I was fine. As a Christian Scientist, I knew it was helpful not to burden my thought with a potential medical diagnosis. I felt I was OK, although there was a wound on one of my arms.
