PRAYER BRINGS QUICK HEALINGS

One of my joys in 2009 was reading Robert Peel's biographical trilogy of Mary Baker Eddy. "Reality breaking through appearances" is how Peel describes the revelation to her of the Science practiced by Christ Jesus and his followers. Mrs. Eddy healed consistently and quickly. Gradually, she was able to explain divine Science to her students so they could heal themselves and others.

The present spiritual reality of divine harmony, sustained and maintained by God's law, is what backs up every healing in this Science, and I'm grateful for the experiences I've had in proving this truth for myself, several of which I'd like to share.

About a decade ago, my legs twitched uncontrollably at night when I would first lie down. This had been going on for a while. Then I saw something on TV about a condition called "restless leg syndrome" (RLS). The notion that my legs could have a mind of their own made me laugh out loud, dissolving my fear. I then affirmed that every part of my being as a spiritual idea of God was harmoniously governed by Him, so I could not experience anything but peace. When the symptoms appeared, unafraid I vigorously and firmly denied the false evidence, and declared God's absolute control over me. Very quickly, this condition vanished, never to return.
