A HEALING OF MIGRAINE

During the time I was in high school I visited several churches in search of a better understanding of God, or a better way of life. Shortly after graduating, I went to a Christian Science church for the first time, and attended Sunday School at 9:30 and then the church service at 11. The subject of the Bible Lesson that day was "Love." I knew right away that I had found the God that I had been searching for. What I'd found in other churches, and what I then found in Christian Science, was to me expressed so well by Mary Baker Eddy in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures: "Jesus' life proved, divinely and scientifically, that God is Love, whereas priest and rabbi affirmed God to be a mighty potentate, who loves and hates" (p. 42).

As I studied the Bible, and Science and Health and Mary Baker Eddy's other writings, I felt that God would always show me the way I should go if I prayerfully listened to His loving guidance. This sentence meant a lot to me: "The ever-recurring human question and wonder, What is God? can never be answered satisfactorily by human hypotheses or philosophy. Divine metaphysics and St. John have answered this great question forever in these words: 'God is Love'" (Mary Baker Eddy, Message to The Mother Church for 1902, p. 5).

Later I met my future husband in that branch church, and we raised our children in Christian Science. I'm grateful for the many healings that we have all experienced.
