'I REALIZED I FELT GREAT'
About 15 years ago, I experienced what appeared to be a urinary tract infection. Eventually pain spread to other parts of my body, with first one function failing and then another. I was very weak and often lost consciousness. Food was uninteresting and hard to retain.
A Christian Science practitioner was praying for me, but was about to leave on vacation. She said she would continue to pray, but I wanted her to be free, and felt I needed to, and could, pray on my own.
During the three weeks I was in bed, no one really knew about my condition except my husband and my younger son. Since it was difficult for me to read, my son would bring me tapes, which our branch church made available, of the Wednesday testimony meeting, with readings from the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy. I also listened to other Christian Science tapes, including the Bible Lesson from the Christian Science Quarterly.
