RHINITIS HEALED

Some years ago, I had a serious respiratory problem. I was a swimmer and had to have a medical examination every three months in order to continue using the pool at my club. During one of these examinations, the doctor diagnosed the difficulty as allergic rhinitis and concluded that I was allergic to chlorine. She prescribed some drops to alleviate the respiratory crises.

I'd grown up attending the Christian Science Sunday School, where I had learned about God as divine Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, Love. And I was used to caring for my health through prayer. However, sometimes, especially at night, my nose would stuff up to such an extent that I found it impossible to sleep and very difficult to breathe. During these occasions, using the drops was the only alternative for alleviating the bouts of rhinitis, in spite of the great discomfort this caused me.

The difficulty went on for a number of years until, one day, while I was spending the weekend at my family's home in the country, I woke up with a cold that accentuated the symptoms of rhinitis even more. I felt extremely uncomfortable, and at the same time I needed to organize a party that would take place the following day.
