DECISIONS CHARTED BY DIVINE WISDOM

TO SHOOT OR NOT TO SHOOT in a pirate standoff on the high seas. To invest or not to invest in stocks that might be risky. To cut or not to cut jobs.

No one escapes the need to make decisions. National leaders are required to show wisdom over hostages, financial bailouts, and defense budgets. Others agonize over colleges, mortgages, pension plans, relationships. Sometimes it feels as though half the world is asking advice of the other half, while both sides are sitting in the same darkness—and there are simply not enough counselors to help.

What this overlooks is the inspired, well-tried counsel available through prayer. And the Bible together with Mary Baker Eddy's Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures offer the grounding for such prayer. These guidebooks make it clear that divine direction is always available. The big decision lies in embracing a spiritual standpoint, which allows us as individuals to view the options with calmness and confidence.
