SAFE FROM INJURY

I like praying with this passage from Revelation: "Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ" (12:10). To me it promises that the Christ, God's message of good, is continuously on duty. We are His ideas, and are pure, perfect, and changeless, never lapsing into something less than desirable, less than whole and complete. Because I'm God s idea, my innate goodness is never lost, never dormant.

In my work as a carpenter I'm involved in heavy lifting and demolition, climbing ladders, always surrounded by power tools, in all sorts of weather. As a result I try to stay mentally and prayerfully alert.

To prepare for each day I begin with the "Daily Prayer" from the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy, which includes this line: "let the reign of divine Truth, Life, and Love be established in me" (p. 41). And then I pray fervently with the ideas in several statements from Science and Health, also by Mary Baker Eddy, as well as healing ideas from the Bible.
