Voices raised against violence

The movie was scarier and more violent than I thought it would be. Peeking through my fingers at the screen, I noticed other moviegoers doing the same.

Then it occurred to me that I could reacquaint myself with my surroundings. Obviously, we were all safe.

Choosing to acknowledge what was actually happening helped me calm down. Remaining alert so I wasn't gripped by the chaos on the screen in front of me was essential.
