BENEFITS ALL AROUND

AT ONE POINT, while I happened to be living with my parents, I found I needed to take total responsibility for my mother, since my father was unable to. Mother was having difficulty mentally and physically, and needed care at all times.

Little did I know the far-reaching and wonderful effect my decision to take on this task would have on my own life. Among other things, it marked the turning point for me in how I approached healing in Christian Science.

When I was in my teens, I'd begun experiencing migraine headaches, which had continued well into adulthood, sometimes affecting my professional career. Since I'd had many healings in Christian Science, I'd definitely prayed about the headaches over the years, never doubting that Christian Science could heal this permanently. Still, I struggled with the feeling that I was not dedicated enough to demonstrate and prove it. Sometimes I felt very distracted by issues in my life, and there were a few times when the pain was so intense that I tried an over-the-counter pain reliever. Doing so didn't bring any permanent relief, however, and I never saw medicine as a true solution.
