QUICK HEALING OF INJURED HAND

Some years ago, I was leaving work to attend a Wednesday evening Christian Science testimony meeting, I caught my hand in the heavy metal door leading to the parking garage as it slammed shut.

The couple in front of me saw what had happened and raced back to help. I was immediately praying and thinking, "Accidents are unknown to God," a statement I was familiar with from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. I was able to assure the couple that I was fine, and I remained calm because I expected healing.

Later, I read the full quote, which was absolutely the healing idea I needed. It reads: "Accidents are unknown to God, or immortal Mind, and we must leave the mortal basis of belief and unite with the one Mind, in order to change the notion of chance to the proper sense of God's unerring direction and thus bring out harmony. Under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection" (p. 424).
