HEALING, GUIDANCE, AND PROVISION FROM GOD

About a year ago, I was very worried about a vaginal hemorrhage I was experiencing. Although I knew about Christian Science, I was not studying it at the time.

I decided to take up the book Science and Health again and study it. When I opened it, I read the paragraph under the marginal heading "Insidious concepts," which says in part that "blood never gave life and can never take it away" (p. 376). This helped me calm the fear I was feeling. I realized that I could rely on God for the healing, and felt a certainty that I would be healed.

As I continued praying, a passage from the Gospel of Matthew also helped me. It was the story about a woman who had been suffering from ''an issue of blood'' for 12 years. When she approached Jesus Christ and touched the hem of his garment, she was healed (see Matt. 9:20-22). I identified with the faith in God's healing power that this woman must have had. Jesus understood this power so well and demonstrated it in his life. He knew he was one with God. The purpose of my prayer was to understand more of the union that we all have with the divine Mind.
