SKIN ERUPTIONS FROM POISON IVY HEALED

Gardening and all the outside yardwork that go with it are among my favorite summertime activities. Just recently, after a few hours of weeding and pruning around several newly planted pine trees, I saw a few eruptions of poison ivy on my arm. I'd seen the plant while working but didn't think too much about it until I noticed the spots developing.

I quickly dismissed the concern I felt by acknowledging that God's creation is good and doesn't include destructive, harmful elements. I'd seen this proved countless times in my life, and, as a result of reasoning this way, I was healed of a chronic, allergic reaction I'd had since childhood.

That healing came as I began to understand, through my study of Christian Science, that the problem was not a result of the environment—what was in the world around me—but rather of a faulty material view of the universe, which I'd accepted as true. The allergy vanished as I was able to replace my mistaken perception of matter as real, with the understanding that the universe and all things in it are spiritual, and therefore harmless.
