HOME FREE AND HAPPY

I first heard the words Christian Science when I was ten years old and was living on a farm in Michigan. A friend of my mother's had just learned of Christian Science and brought some Sentinels to our home for my mother to read. I loved to read them, too, and it was as though I had come from the darkness into the light.

In the Sunday School I'd been attending in our little town, whenever they discussed Jesus' healings, I would ask, "Why can't we do that now?" I was told that it was only possible in Jesus' time. Later, when Christian Science was introduced to us, and I learned that today it is possible for people to pray and heal even those who are a distance away, I knew that Christian Science was what I had been looking for. It has been my way of life ever since.

Last summer, I became very disturbed about many things. I was depressed and food became tasteless. I was not eating or sleeping well, and I began to lose a lot of weight. I needed time away from home for rest and study, so I called my daughter. She recognized my need and made a five-hour trip by car to get me and take me to her home.
