THE MOTHER'S DAY CONNECTION
I ALWAYS REMEMBER MY GREAT-AUNT AT CHRISTMAS AND ON MOTHER'S DAY.
It's a natural to associate her with Christmas because she and my great-uncle lived close by when we were growing up and they were always part of holiday celebrations. Aunt Margaret, affectionately known as Aunt Mark, never had children of her own, so the Mother's Day connection took me longer to sort out.
Aunt Mark had a large collection of Madame Alexander dolls. Her favorite was Jo, representing that character in the Louisa May Alcott book Little Women. Jo was my favorite in the book, too.
