INJURY TO FINGER HEALED WITHOUT A SCAR

One day I was working in my community garden plot. While I was cutting some small branches with my garden scissors, I accidentally cut off the flesh and the nail on the tip of my left thumb. I was in great pain and the finger was bleeding profusely. But I wasn't afraid, because I had faith and confidence in God.

Not wanting to worry my husband, who was with me, I didn't say anything, but wrapped a handkerchief around my thumb and suggested we go home.

During the short walk home, I prayed, which was a very natural response for me. I knew that this prayer would have an effect. As I recall, I simply knew that God had not caused, or known about, this accident, and therefore it could not affect me. I had learned this through my study of Christian Science. I also thought about the fact that I was one with God, who is good. This meant that I was His expression, and that no part of my being could be lost or damaged.
