I am writing to tell you that the Sentinels I have are just wonderful. They have brought peace and hope into my life. The power of prayer and the power of ideas. Very encouraging for me. I was an alcoholic for 20 years, and in the end I longed to die. I tried to commit suicide and nearly succeeded, and I did a year in prison. I have now been almost 15 years without alcohol, and through Jesus Christ I have given up gambling. The Lord has also cured a reading and learning disability.
I am often beset by anxiety in life, but today my Sentinels and Christian Science literature have once again brought peace and hope into my life. To think that the Creator of heaven and earth loves and cares about me! And because God hears and answers prayers, there is hope for each new day. To think I've been through with alcoholism, hopelessness, gambling, anxiety, and fear and guilt. To think that I can finally leave the past behind.
It is a wonderful experience in life to have hope for a new day, and the great sense of peace that I felt today because of answered prayer and my Sentinels is wonderful. In closing let me just say that I am most thankful to our good Lord for giving me a good life with plenty of time to read and learn. After all the years of adversity, it is a great gift to be cared about in life so much so that I can devote my days to my studies, and in some small way I can find a way to give back this wonderful gift.
