REAL-LIFE STORIES
Care for the whole family
My farm is in a small village in Sweden. The Church of Christ, Scientist, nearest to me is in Stockholm, 500 kilometers away. I'm the only Christian Scientist in my village, but I have found that what the Bible says is true, "God setteth the solitary in families" (Ps. 68:6).
I regularly speak by phone with a Christian Science practitioner in California. We read together from the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. He is even learning Swedish and has copies of those two books in Swedish.
My phone visit with this practitioner, another member of The Mother Church, are strengthened by ways in which the Church reaches out to me—through the Weekly Bible Lessons, the Swedish edition of the magazine The Herald of Christian Science, and through the weekly Sentinel and monthly Christian Science Journal. So you see, I feel very close to my Church.
