Painful eye condition healed, vision restored
My father used to be a juju man, a Nigerian medicine man. He would use herbs, rituals, and sacrifices in trying to treat people who were sick and troubled, people who thought that he had personal power to help them. Because I was his daughter and was believed to be special and pure, I was asked to help carry out the rituals.
When I was in secondary school, through my mom's help I became a Christian. She took us to a Christ Apostolic Church when my dad was not around. I accepted God in my life.
I learned in that church that there is no other power except God, and therefore there is no power in a ritual. From that point on, I refused to carry out the juju rituals. My father and I argued, and I told my dad that sometime I would prove for him that God is the only power. He said, "OK, then we shall see."
