THE ART OF CHRISTIAN SCIENCE HEALING

Many of the articles in this magazine discuss physical healings brought about through prayer. And many writers also tell about lives changed for the better through their study of Christian Science. Over the last 100 years of the Sentinel's publication, thousands of people have written about finding resolution to just about every imaginable problem, including poverty, joblessness, relationship differences, prejudice, low self-esteem, and loneliness. These writers explain that they were helped by reading Mary Baker Eddy's book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.

Science and Health explains in depth how the revelation of God's laws came to its author, and it gives the reader the tools to apply what Mary Baker Eddy called "the Science of Being" to their own lives. The book lays out the basic principles of spiritual reality and healing—ones anyone can trust in prayer. They include understanding that God is entirely good and created an entirely good universe (as stated in the Bible in Genesis 1:31). That He is the supreme power and presence. That disease, sin, and death are not conditions created by God who is wholly perfect. And that God's infinite goodness, realized in prayer, heals disorders of every sort—neutralizing and destroying them.

Sometimes when a patient needs encouragement or feels overwhelmed by threatening circumstances or fear, a Christian Science practitioner can help. Practitioners dedicate their lives to helping others spiritually. They lend support, pray, and are available day or night to give comfort and to give Christian Science treatment.
