More than a HEALING of a soccer injury

When I have a healing a a result of prayer and Christian Science treatment, one of the things I love about it—besides the healing itself—is thinking about what I learned from it. The following experience is one example of what I mean.

I was playing a scrimmage game in my soccer league. The ball was coming toward me, and, seeing no one around me, I decided to head the ball—to play it off my forehead while it was still in the air. I ran toward the ball, and as I jumped forward to head it, I was knocked to the ground. Lying on my back, stunned, I had no idea what had happened. I heard my teammates screaming as they ran toward me.

Several of these teammates were medical professionals, and they helped me sit up and tried to see what they could do for me. One, a nurse, told me that I needed to go to the hospital because it was obvious that my nose was broken. I told her I wanted to go to a Christian Science nursing facility. As she gently mopped my face with some towels, I could hear the others yelling for more towels. My eyes were sealed shut from all the bleeding. My friend then told me that I needed to go to the hospital not just because my nose was broken, but also becasue the bleeding was out of control and wasn't slowing down.
