Spiritual understanding heals injuries
O Arauto da Christian Science
A chip flew off some wood I was chopping, causing a small wound in my leg. I felt a lot of pain, but it went away when I remembered that there were no accidents under God's law.
Two weeks later, however, my leg started to hurt again, and the wound became inflamed. My husband took me to the doctor, who prescribed several medications. I took all of them, but my leg only got worse. Several months went by, and the wound continued to grow larger and fester. The doctor said it had become an ulcer, that it was very difficult to cure, and that I might have a problem with it for the rest of my life. I was only 27 at the time and had two small daughters.
Nine months later, I woke up in the middle of the night, feeling very ill. I called out to my whole family. I felt that I must be dying. Suddenly my younger daughter, who was 18 months old at the time, began to cry.
