A family refuses to cave in to fears about flying.
Secure in God's presence
As The Anniversary Of The Terrorist Attacks of September 11 approaches, people from countries around the globe are evaluating how the world has changed in the last year. Those flying internationally find themselves in a new era of heightened security.
Indu and Subhash Malhotra and their daughter Deepika Patel (left) talked with the Sentinel about the international flight Deepika was scheduled to take a few days after September 11, 2001. They tell how they dealt with their fears then. And they also tell about the prayerful steps they've taken since then to gain peace of mind as they've all continued to fly to different countries.
Deepika: Last year, I went to Bombay to attend an annual meeting, which was on September 8. I was scheduled to fly back home to Boston a few days later, to return to my job and husband. But after the attacks of September 11, I couldn't leave India. All the airports in the US were closed.
