Gathering news stories with a spiritual perspective week by week, we wondered what kinds of material the Sentinel of a century ago carried. We found the magazine Mary Baker Eddy was publishing in its early years filled with newsy, topical essays, articles, jokes, and tidbits—often excerpted from other magazines and newspapers—that spoke to a broad world audience. Here is a glimpse into the Sentinel of about 100 years ago.
