A doctor's account
Originally published in O Arauto da Christian Science
I have been a doctor for years, and am now studying Christian Science by reading in the Christian Science Quarterly the weekly Bible Lessons which include passages from the Bible and from Science and Health. I have learned a lot about God, infinite divine Love, and this gives me strength and confidence.
One afternoon my sister called me at work to tell me my mother wasn't feeling well. I became fearful, but began to pray with the new ideas I've been learning in Christian Science. In my prayers I recognized that my mother is God's daughter, and that He created her perfect. I decided to go right home. I took a taxi and continued to think about what I'd been learning through my new study of Christ Jesus and the Science of healing he practiced.
When I got home, my mother, very anxious and perspiring heavily, was having difficulty breathing. Other relatives there were apprehensive. My first thought was to take my mother to the emergency room. But I prayed.
