YOUR LETTERS
THANKS FOR 2001 ISSUE
I'm writing to congratulate you on the last issue of the Teen Herald of Christian Science. I liked reading it. It helped me a lot with relationships with my friends, family, and at school. All the issues are fantastic because we can learn how differently people think.

You are really helping me with my schoolwork. My dad told me about your magazine because he saw it advertised. I wanted to see how it was, so I said I would read it. I like how kids can express their feelings and dreams. Thanks a lot. You're really having a good influence on doubts I have had about myself.

I have a copy of the special teen issue of The Herald of Christian Science, and I'm very happy with the topics that are in it. My school friends also appreciate the magazine. When I leave school on Friday nights, a few sentences from the Herald cheer me up and help me feel less tired from the day. Don't stop producing this magazine.

I enjoyed your most recent issue of the Teen Herald a lot! I think it was put together very well. This is the best magazine I have ever read. It was especially helpful and touching to me because some of these things helped me to become a better person and to understand more easily how to overcome certain issues that were mentioned in the articles.

A REFUGEE SPEAKS
This morning, while in town, I saw the teen edition of a magazine called The Herald of Christian Science. As I read about my brothers and sisters [around the world], I was very touched, especially by Luam Teame Adhanom. As a refugee myself, her testimony helped me a lot. The articles have strengthened me in regard to my own situation here in Zimbabwe, where I have fled.
The Omnipotent has protected me and guarded me in this country where I have no brother or friend, no work, no school, and nobody to take care of me. But through the grace of God, I have health. If you would allow me to share my situation with you, and if you can help me to understand God, I would be even more blessed.

ON “SELF-RESPECT & SEX“
I am a senior in high school. The reason I'm writing is to respond to the interview with you about sex [“Self-Respect & Sex,” Teen Herald 2001]. I thought it might be nice to hear a guy's perspective. I honestly agree with everything you say. Yes, girls are scared of some guys because of what might be said about them [if they don't agree to have sex].
I think it comes down to how parents raise their children. What a lot of parents say, “Wait until you get married before you have sex,” is right. I think that is the best way, but it doesn't always happen.
It's funny how two people in the same country or in the world, who are so far from each other, are facing the same problems.
