Philip prays with his dad
PHILIP was playing outside during recess, when he tripped and fell and hit his head. The playground attendant sent him to the health office where they cleaned the wound and called his home. His mom went to the school to give him a ride home so he would not have to wait for the school bus. He said he wanted to go home as he always does—on the school bus, and she agreed.
Later in the day, Philip and his dad went to get a haircut. While driving to the barbershop, Philip said he would like to keep his hair long in the front so no one could see the large lump he had on his forehead. Dad said they would get their usual haircuts, and when they got home after the haircuts, they would pray more about the bump.
That night before bed, Dad and Philip went to their rooms to pray and write out a Christian Science treatment—a prayer—about the bump on Philip's head. After about 30 minutes, Philip went into Dad's room and presented him with what he wrote.
