A way out of despair
We usually don't ask ourselves why we have faith in life. We just do. There is something in us that intuitively tells us that life is worth living, that we can expect it to be good.
But some circumstances can make us feel very differently. Difficult situations can make us suddenly doubt the goodness of life. Or else, having taken several wrong turns, we start thinking that we are not worthy to succeed. In such cases, our faith in life can be shattered, and it might then seem there is no way out of despair.
In our cover story, Emily Laclau tells of her spiritual journey. Not only her faith in life was shattered, but also her faith in God. Her powerful story speaks of the progress and renewal that await all of us, in one form or another. It shows that the good that God has planned for every one of His children can never disappear in oblivion. It can be seen, felt. It shines through our lives.
