Forgive ... and feel the power
Forgiveness is contagious. I learned this, years ago when a good friend took something I said in a way I never meant it—and then blamed me. I tried to explain, but he wouldn't listen. Then I started having trouble forgiving him, for not forgiving me.
Finally, I looked up forgive in the dictionary, to understand what it meant—and why I couldn't seem to do it.
That's when I found out that forgiving is about giving. Intense giving. Giving that makes no claim on someone else.
