Persistent prayer brings results
Over a period of almost two years, I suffered from severe pain in my head and neck and nausea that came and went for no apparent reason. Occasionally my own prayers brought some relief, but usually I asked a Christian Science practitioner to pray with me.
The practitioner I called would assure me that God is the only power and that because sickness is not made by Him, it is untrue—a lie. I did not have to believe in it. The practitioner helped me understand that I had the God-given authority to refuse to believe that lie.
When the pain was severe, I was comforted by knowing that I could immediately prove God's power and love by rejecting the idea that I had to suffer. I prayed to understand better that God was the only cause, presence, or action of my life. I knew that God's thoughts were the only true thoughts, and that they would have a healing result. Because I "live, and move, and have [my] being" in the one God, I saw that I could never be separated from health (see Acts 17:28). I knew that God was the only presence in my life. With this assurance, healing came. There has been no return of this problem.
