Painless childbirth; back pain healed

I have had so many wonderful healings and experiences that to relate them all would fill a book! I trace my early progress in Christian Science through the births of our four children. When the first was born, I knew nothing of this Science and relied on medical care. It was a painful process, including an abscess and back trouble.

Two years later my mother was introduced to Christian Science. She was healed of asthma, from which she had suffered from earliest childhood, simply through reading Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, which she said opened the Bible for her. As the same problem that attended the birth of my first child seemed to be developing when I was carrying the second, my mother asked if I would like her to pray for me. I said I would, although I knew very little about Christian Science, apart from the fact that medicine was not relied upon for healing. But as I had always taken medicine, I was fearful of giving it up. What if Christian Science didn't work? However, after a night of struggling with the problem, I decided that since medical treatment had not cured me, I had nothing to lose. I would rely on Christian Science and not take medicine anymore. To my absolute delight and surprise, the cure was immediate, and I have not had to resort to even an aspirin since that night.
