Where are you from?
A FRIEND OF MINE is a Lutheran minister. He once delivered a sermon entitled "Where You're Coming From Determines Where You'll End Up," built around the Bible story of Nicodemus's evening conversation with Jesus (see John 3). In this meeting, Jesus challenged Nicodemus to explore and accept a different origin for man, an origin in Spirit, not matter. Jesus made clear that unless man was born again—acknowledged a spiritual rather than material origin—he wouldn't be able to experience the kingdom of God. Jesus said, "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit."
Remember, you come from God.
